Inpatient Rehabilitation Toolkit

New Federal regulations became effective January 1, 2010 requiring inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRF) to re-engineer their patient assessments and medical necessity documentation. IRFs need to reorganize the timelines for initial patient assessments, post-admission reviews, plans of care and team meetings. IRFs are required to have a weekly team meeting comprised of specific people identified by the regulations. Significant reimbursement from Medicare is at stake if an IRF does not apply the new regulations to discharges after January 1, 2010. Aegis Compliance & Ethics Center, LLP has developed an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Regulation Toolkit to help meet an IRF’s needs. The Toolkit is available for $295 and includes the following:

  • The new IRF Medicare rules
  • Checklist of activities to prepare for new regulations
  • Model policies
  • Template forms for medical necessity documentation
  • Mock forms for example admission
  • MP3 recording that walks through the model policy and template forms
  • MP3 recording explaining new rules
  • Updated model policy if CMS changes regulations by April 1, 2010
