Coding/Auditing Professional

Education and Certification

  • Degree in health care related field or equivalent experience
  • Certified as a professional coder with CCS-P or CPC credential
  • Certified as RHIT, CCS, CHC is helpful
  • Certified as an ICD 10 and/or professional coding instructor is helpful
  • Current membership in professional association, i.e. AAPC, AHIMA, HCCA


  • A minimum of 5 years direct coding/auditing experience
  • Direct experience in preparing, organizing and delivering physician education on an array of topics
  • Previous consulting experience is preferred
  • Academic medical center experience in working with the professional staff is important
  • Both ambulatory and hospital experience is helpful
  • Medical record auditing for Evaluation and Management services and procedures for physicians is necessary
  • Preparing and reporting audit results
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is important

  • Ability to travel to client sites as necessary
  • Ability to work remotely with assigned rates of productivity
  • Exposure to and experience in coding and auditing in an array of specialties
  • Proven professional and able to work independently
  • Respect the profession and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality
